Deaths recorded in Salt Lake county are located in volumes with certificates arranged numerically by registered number, then by date of death, month & year. Some records in this collection may be for deaths occurring before 1908 where the remains were re-interred between 1908 and 1949. Deaths occurring in 1940 are not in the collection.

The death certificates often contain birth date and birthplace of the deceased, the name of the spouse, the names of parents, place of residence and the name of the informant who may be a child of the deceased.
