"DADDY" SANDERS DIED AT 110

A Newberry Negro Who Lived a Decade More Than a Century.

Newberry, June 13.---Probably the oldest person in the United States died here yesterday afternoon.

"Daddy" Sanders, a negro, 110 years old, who for a long time has been known as the "patriach" [sic] of this whole section, was laid to rest this afternoon. A daughter of this old man is in the employ of a prominent family of Newberry and there is no doubt as to the truth of his age, notwithstanding the many reports of the "oldest" man who "passed away yesterday."
